ACA’s Network for Africa participates in the annual Ugandan HealthCare Federation (UHF) Meeting

Africa Capacity Alliance, through its Network for Africa project, funded under USAID’s SHOPS project participated the 4th Annual Uganda Health Federation meeting held in Kampala in July, 2014. The meeting that was attended by PPP thought leaders from the donor community, private sector, and public sectors from Uganda and beyond exchanged ideas in enhancing public-private partnerships (PPPs) for health in Uganda. ACA on her part had the opportunity to enrich the discussions through providing insights into experiences based on implementation of various Health PPP projects in Africa.

Additionally, discussions on supporting UHF’s online platforms and information sharing based on ACA’s expertise and experiences were explored. UHF also committed to support the N4Aproject, which they sighted as a great platform for information sharing for enhancement of health-specific PPPs in Africa.

Dr. Timothy Musila, an Advisory Committee member for the N4A, who also heads the Uganda Ministry of Health PPP Unit was present at the meeting and gave a candid presentation on his experiences and lessons learned in setting up a PPP unit in Uganda. He also provided insights on health financing.

ACA was a co-sponsor of the UHF event.
