Consultancy to facilitate a one day Training in Capturing Success Stories and Effective Reporting for Partners under the Capacity Building for Inadequately Served Population Project (CB4ISP)
Background
Africa Capacity Alliance (ACA) in collaboration with the National Organization of Peer Educators (NOPE) and the Federation of Women Lawyers Kenya (FIDA) received a grant from the Robert Carr civil society Network Fund to improve the quality, effectiveness, relevance and equity of AIDS responses reaching Inadequately Served Populations (ISPs). The project identified and is being implemented by four beneficiary organizations, namely Keeping Alive Societies Hope (KASH) in Kenya, Community Health Education Services and Advocacy (CHESA) in Tanzania, Uganda Network of Young People living with AIDS (UNYPA) and MARPs Uganda Limited in Uganda..
Implementation of the two year project started in February 2014 and is expected to run through January 2016. A capacity assessment of these beneficiary organisations was conducted in May/June 2014 and the findings revealed that there are capacity gaps in Advocacy among other capacity areas.
It is against this background that ACA is seeking for consultancy services of a trainer/ facilitator in Advocacy for civil society organisations targeting inadequately served populations.
Scope of the Consultancy
The consultant is expected to perform inter alia the following:-
1) Prepare a pre-training assessment questionnaire and administer it to participants prior to the training;
2) Facilitate the one day training and assist each organisation develop a plan of action in
relation to capturing success stories and effective reporting that meets the priorities of the organisation and its stakeholders, based on its mission and objectives, and also considering context specific processes and trends in programming for inadequately served populations.
3) Submit a draft training report to ACA within one week after completion of the training;
4) Submit to ACA a final training report within one week after receipt of feedback from ACA Secretariat.
Duration and Time frame
The assignment is expected to be three working days level of effort and will be executed between November 24 and December 11, 2015. The pre-training assessment should be done at least 3 days before the actual training. The training is planned for December 4, 2015 and the final training report to be submitted by December 11, 2015.
